This place has my favorite battered fish tacos and shrimp ceviche! I love this place because the portions are huge and you only need two tacos to get you full! Their food is always made to order and you can tell by the hot food that comes to your table.

Their ceviche is so yummy! I love that they have cucumber in the ceviche because it gives it a nice crunch and a refreshing flavor. They have a bunch of different ceviches that I have yet to try but I love their shrimp!!

Their customer service is the best. I came in for a large to go order and they were quite busy at the time so I understand that they weren't able to hear me and so I was missing an item from my order. I called and Leanna answered the phone. She was the one who also took my order and she was super sweet and apologetic about it. I came back in and she had them ready for me so I was in and out of there really quick.

I didn't even mind driving to san fernando in traffic just to get their food! I rave about their food so much, my parents came out to try their food too and they're not the type to eat out very much!

I wish I could give these people more stars but i'm so glad my best friend showed me this place!

We have been coming to Papa Juan's for awhile now and haven't had any issues but lately it seems as if there is a lack of management and customer service. I went in about a week ago to pick up a take out order for a ceviche. The ceviche came out to $8.79. When the owner rang me up, I handed him a $10 bill and  he gave me two dimes as my change and said "I owe you a penny." I looked back  and said "umm no, you owe me $1.01!" He then said "I gave you the dollar!"

I still had my hand out with the two dimes in my palm to show him and still, he adamantly looked at me and said "I gave you the dollar!"
I thought this was ridiculous; I took the ceviche and left.

First of all, you owe me? What makes you so sure I would be coming back any time soon for the money you owe me.

Second of all, I would have let it go for a penny even a dollar but when I mentioned the dollar he rightfully owed me, he made it seem like I was trying to pull a fast one on him when in reality he didn't know how to do simple first grade math, count the money properly and give a paying customer the money they deserve. Who lies over a dollar? Also, I am not a magician so how did I make the dollar disappear right in front of him?

While I was walking out, one of his waitresses was calling a couple in to show them to their table, once the couple walked in she simply pointed to the open table and told the couple to make their way over there.

What type of resturant waives you over and points to your table ? - just no resturant etiquette what so ever.

Lesson 1: Pay with card because you might not get the correct change given if you pay in cash and also be accused of being a liar when you question the owner.

Lesson 2: if you want any ounce of resturant etiquette go somewhere else.

In conclusion, my family and I will never be giving a "dollar" or a "penny" to your business ever again. Hopefully you will use this review and improve your business instead of trying to delete this review and brush it off.

I've been coming to Papa Juan's for years now. Easily been here 25+ times. Well, this last time I went (back in April) left me with a bad experience. We got sat pretty fast and took our orders in a reasonable time, so no complaints on the servers, they're all pretty great. What killed it was that it took an hour to get our food. It was 6 of us and it wasn't even all the busy, they had an hour before closing. All I ordered was fish & chips since I knew it was simple and easy to make. Well, finally got our orders and one of them is not even what my friend ordered, so sent it back. The owner came out with the server to bring our food which I thought was nice. He even asked me if I wanted tartar sauce for my fish & chips and I said Yeah. He said he'd bring that right away. Well, he never did. I could see him talking to his servers for a few minutes and I looked back, slowly eating my food, waiting for the tartar sauce. Never came.

I haven't been back since, and I'll be honest, I know I'll be back because the place really is that good. But I guess I've been unintentionally boycotting this place since then. Don't forget about who made you big: your loyal customers.

Decided to give this place a try for dinner and I must say that they do not disappoint.  I got the steak tacos which were $3.49 each. At first I thought it was a little too expensive for a taco, but after taking my first bite it all made sense. The steak is very lean and cooked to perfection. The tacos were topped with a delicious green sauce that made the taste 100 times better. My wife got a steak quesadilla made with the same steak meat and both dishes were extremely delicious. This is definitely a good spot for tacos. I will be back to try the cocktails.

Finally decided to give Papa Juan's a try. We tried the shrimp burrito, asada burrito, and a campechana. The food was a bit overpriced. I felt like $10 for a burrito and $17-18 for a campechana was a bit much but that might've just been me. With that price tag I expected something with a little more "wow" factor but nothing really stood out. The burritos were ok, too much rice not enough meat. The shrimp that I did taste were really good but towards the end felt like hitting but rice. My son liked his asada burrito and I usually only give him half of one but these were a bit small so I let him enjoy the whole thing.

Campechana was bomb but once again lacked size for the price IMO. The taste was right on and plenty of meat in that one (this is what saved my experience).

I will probably go back because of its location (next to horchateria and my barbershop) but only if I'm ballin and really craving this food after I get my haircut.
